Second raid: Customs Preventive impounds smuggled goods worth Rs30m from Yusuf Plaza

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-smuggling Organization conducted a raid on Yusuf Plaza in Bolton Market and recovered huge quantity of smuggled goods worth Rs30 million. A raid had been conducted on Yusuf Plaze few days ago and smuggled goods had been recovered.

Sources told that on the directives of Chief Collector Enforcement Saifuddin Junejo, Collector Preventive Saquif Saeed has expedited the anti-smuggling campaign and raids being conducted at the private warehouses and markets dumped with smuggled goods.

Sources told that Collector Saquif Saeed received credible information about presence of huge quantity of smuggled goods at Yusuf Plaza in Bolton market.

He immediately constituted anti-smuggling squad to raid the market. Subsequently, huge quantity of foreign origin cigarettes, cigars, Indian gutka and cosmetics were recovered.

It is necessary to mention here that Chief Collector Saifuddin Junejo after assuming the charge directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling. He further directed to use all available resources to curb smuggling attempts in the region.
