Chairman NAB takes notice of public complaints against K-Electric

ISLAMABAD: Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday directed NAB Karachi to conduct inquiry against Karachi Electric for allegedly flouting of agreement, over billing and long load shedding.

Taking notice of people’s complaints and media reports against K electric, the chairman NAB directed NAB Karachi to complete the inquiry within a period of three months so that the responsible could be brought to justice as per law.

He directed NAB Karachi to conduct inquiry of the complaints of unscheduled long load shedding, over billing and violation of agreement according to which K electric had to make investments for modernising the electricity generation and betterment of transmission system but K-Electric allegedly failed miserably to honour the agreement signed.

Chairman NAB has directed NAB Karachi to obtain the copies of agreement, relevant documents and details of the volume of promised agreement.

Chairman NAB said that NAB is a national institution which believes in working as per law.

NAB will never allow K Electric to fleece billion of rupees from the consumers by over billing, unscheduled Long load shedding and violating the agreement.

NAB believes in Accountability sand any discrimination considering it as it’s national duty.
