Multan Customs generates Rs7.7m through auction of confiscated goods

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance generated Rs7.7 million from auction of perishable goods lying at the State Ware House.

Sources told Customs Today that the Collectorate has carried out special auction for disposal of perishable goods on directions of Collector Muneeza Majeed to generate revenue. Multan Customs carried out special auction after ensuring special precautionary measures to prevent public from Corona spread and participants of auction wear face mask and followed instructions for social distance during auction.

Multan Customs offer 19 lots of skimmed milk powder (pure khoorasan), raisins (kishmish),fruity bar/fruit rolls, dried cocunuts, almonds, foreign chocolates (Nani and Spark), black tea Kenya bulk, energy drinks red bull, wafer biscuits, chewing gums, black pepper and other perishable food items in the auction. Multan Customs successfully sold out 11 lots of skimmed milk powder, dry fruits, raisins, chocolates and rani juices.

While almost eight lots of milk powder black pepper, energy drinks were rejected during auction due to fewer prices offered. Perishable goods were auctioned early on the direction of Collector Muneeza Majeed to generate revenue.

Assistant Collector Umer Sajjad supervised the whole process of auction at Multan Dry Port along with other staff to ensure transparency.
