ROME: The Puritalia 427 first came to the world’s attention in more than two years ago, but the Italian sports car has finally arrived and will launch at home. The roadster production vehicle is a close match to the original design concept from 2012.
The chassis of the new Italian sport car is also aluminium sitting beneath a body made from carbon-fibre, which helps to keep weight down to 1150kg. The 427 is 4350 mm long, 1952 mm wide and 1255 mm high with a wheelbase of 2600 mm, and it sits on adjustable, independent suspension from Bilstein and Eibach.
Foot of the Puritalia 427 are from P-Zeros from Pirelli, with 19-inch wheels up front and 20-inch at the rear. In there, we can see the six-piston brake callipers with 380 mm rotors up front and four-piston callipers with 345 mm rotors at the rear.
The sport car Puritalia 427 is a 2-seat roadster model and with styling reportedly inspired by the Shelby Cobra, and a 5.0-liter Ford V8 under the bonnet to firm the connection. The power provides 332kW / 530Nm and for supercharged version is also available with an output of 451kW / 650Nm. The sport car power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential and an aluminium driveshaft.
The Italian company says “if you can dream it, we can build it”, and is usually kept busy hand-crafting cars for customers from its base in Napoli. So, no details about Puritalia 427 roadster price at this stage or how many the sport car will be built, nor the car’s 0-100km/h time, fuel consumption or option packages.
