Multan Dry Port collects Rs30776.367m under petroleum development levy

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement Faisalabad Dry Port Multan has collected Rs30776.367 million under the head of Petroleum Development Levy ({PEL) during the economic year 2019-20.

According to details, Customs Appraisement collected petroleum development levy from oil marketing companies on the clearance of ex-bonding of high speed diesel (HSD) shipments from Multan Dry Port.

Collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected all taxes from oil marketing companies including customs duty, sales tax, federal excise duty (FED), income tax, additional sales tax at the time of ex-bonding clearance.

The Collectorate of Appraisement received 97 percent of its revenue collection from Multan Dry Port through clearance of High Speed Diesel and other petroleum products from PARCO oil refinery of Mahmood Kot.

Multan Dry Port collection Rs6602 million from Oil Marketing companies in wake of PDL during the month of June 2019-20. Customs Appraisement was able to collect Rs.30776 million during the corresponding period of 2019-20.Multan Customs has witnessed huge decline in the collection of Petroleum Development levy due to decrease in demand of HSD products and nationwide prolonged lockdown in the economic year 2019-20.
