Identification card mandatory for customs agents for entry in Mughalpura Dry Port

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement and Facilitation Mughalpura Dry Port, deputy collector issued directed that no customs clearing gent or his authorized representative would be allowed to enter the premises without showing identification card or work permit card.

The office order read as “it is hereby directed that no customs clearing agent or his authorized representative would be allowed to enter the premises of Collectorate of Customs Appraisement and Facilitation, Lahore without duly issued customs clearing agent identification card or work permit card.

Customs staff is also directed not to interact with any clearing agent/authorized persons without verifying his credentials. Any deviation in this regard would be viewed seriously”.

Earlier, Collectorate of Customs Appraisement has issued a circular regarding dress code on the premises of the Mughalpura Dry Port.

Sources told that Customs Appraisement has issued a circular that all staff, including deputy superintendents, inspectors, hawaldars and sepoys should be in proper uniform.

The appraisers and ministerial staff of the Collectorate has also been directed to attend their offices in the prescribed uniform.  These measures are taken to improve security at the Mughalpura Dry port.
