Asim Bajwa steps down as PM’s aide on information

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday relieved Lt. Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa from portfolio of Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting on his request.

Asim Saleem Bajwa, in a tweet today, revealed that he requested Prime Minister to relinquish him from the additional portfolio of SAPM on Information and broadcasting. He added that PM approved his request.

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had refused to accept the resignation of his aide on information and broadcasting, retired Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa.

Imran Khan had said that he was satisfied with the explanation and the evidences provided by Asim Saleem Bajwa, who is also chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority (CPECA).
