Govt debt up by Rs3.4tr in August: SBP

KARACHI: Government’s net debts as of August 2020 stand at a massive sum of Rs 35,659 billion whereas the debt at the end of August 2019 was Rs 32,240 billion.

According to State Bank of Pakistan, borrowing from long term bonds (PIBs) amounted to 13,391 billion rupees. In first two months of fiscal year government debt rose by 554 billion rupees.
