FBR assigns division wise targets to ASOs

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has allocated division wise targets to Anti-Smuggling Organizations for the month of October 2020-21.

According to the details, FBR assigned target of Rs80 million to Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) and Anti-Smuggling Organization Dera Ghazi Khan Division Rs70 million for the month of October.

Sadiqabad Division has been assigned revenue task of Rs90 million. Customs Faisalabad and Jhang Anti-Smuggling Divisions were given anti-smuggling task of Rs190 million with Rs160 million and Rs30 million respectively for the month of October. Sargodha Division was assigned anti-smuggling task of Rs.20 million and Mianwali assigned almost Rs.30 million for the month of October 2020-21.

In a bid to discourage smuggling, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has assigned special anti-smuggling tasks in the jurisdiction and allotted monthly revenue task for the month of October 2020-21. The Model Customs Collectorate Enforcement & Compliance (E& C) Multan was directed to allot revenue collection task to every division of anti-smuggling organization for the month of October.

The assistant collector /deputy collector will act as in-charge of each ASO Division and they are directed to devise comprehensive strategy for accomplishment of assigned revenue tasks that may also include raids on dumping places and godowns for seizure of smuggled and contraband items.

These assigned targets are the minimum which will be required from ASO Divisions and it is expected from ASO divisions that they will surpass the assigned targets with considerable margins.

The Federal Board of Revenue has directed each division of Anti-Smuggling Organization to compile daily performance report regarding seizure cases to the Assistant Collector Headquarter.
