LAHORE: Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has collected revenue of Rs9.4 billion in October 2020. It needs to underscore here that revenue collection during the same month in 2019 was Rs7.6 billion.

Thus there is an increase of 24% as compared to that year. It is further added that during the period of July-Oct this year PRA witnessed a revenue collection of Rs35.46 Billion showing a growth of 9.74% over the same period last year which stood at Rs32.29 Billion.

It is important to mention that this continued growth in revenue collection in the current year has been achieved amidst the negative impact of Covid-19 on the economy.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Punjab Revenue Authority has achieved this by creating awareness and ensuring compliance through tax payer involvement and education.  PRA has not taken any drastic coercive measures i.e. attaching of bank accounts etc during this period.

It is also worth mentioning that the Government of the Punjab during FY 2019-20 last quarter reduced the rate of tax for over 20 services from 16% to 5%.

Chairperson PRA in his appreciation message praised the efforts of officers and has motivated them to show much greater revenue performance in the coming month.
