Quetta Customs seizes smuggle goods, vehicles worth Rs200m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) and FC in a joint operation seized foreign smuggled goods and non-customs paid vehicles.

According to the customs spokesperson, Collector Irfan Javed received credible information that huge quantity of non-duty paid goods will be smuggled. The customs and the FC jointly recovered foreign goods from different vehicles at Lakpass. In which cloth, tires, blankets, foreign diesel and dozens of non-customs vehicles and trucks were also seized.

Seized foreign goods include, 76000 kilograms of of betel nut, 5000 kilograms of cloth, 4200 kilograms of blankets, 35000 liters of diesel, 1356 tires worth about Rs200 million.

Earlier, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) with the assistance of Frontier Crops (FC) seized high valued contraband smuggled goods worth R28.85 million from Surab check post and Dalbandin area.

On November 14, 2020 Collector Enforcement and Compliance Irfan Javed received credible information regarding smuggling of contraband goods.

It is necessary to mention here that Collector Irfan Javed directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt comprehensive policy against smuggling. He further directed to use all available resources to curb smuggling attempts and anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law.
