Faisalabad ASO impounds smuggled Iranian dry skimmed milk near Kamalpur

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) recovered a huge quantity of Iranian dry skimmed milk which was being smuggled from Quetta to Lahore, sources said.

The sources said that the total value of the milk is over Rs5 million while the ASO has also detained the truck which was being used to transport the milk.

The sources said that on secret information the ASO team intercepted the truck loaded with the illegal milk near Kamalpur interchange and recovered the huge quantity.

The sources said that the ASO after registering a case against the party has started further investigation.

Earlier, Anti-smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad has seized large quantity of smuggled cumin seed and Mono Sodium Glutamate (Chinese Salt) worth Rs15 million.

Acting on information, the Staff of Anti-Smuggling Organization, Faisalabad intercepted a 10-Wheeler truck, which was loaded with foreign origin Cumin Seed and Mono Sodium Glutamate (Chinese Salt).

The driver failed to produce relevant documents of the loaded consignment. The vehicle was detained and taken into possession for further investigation. Upon detailed examination, 21 tons of Cumin Seed and 3,750-KGs of Mono Sodium Glutamate was recovered and seized. Further proceeding and investigation is under way.
