Faisalabad Customs seizes huge quantity of smartphones from airport

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs team deputed at Faisalabad International Airport have recovered millions of rupees illegally imported smart phones from passengers coming from Dubai at the Faisalabad international Airport.

Sources said that on suspicion the customs team searched two passengers who later identified a Umair Baber and Naeem Baber and recovered the latest mobiles worth millions of rupees and accessories.

The sources said that the mobiles and accessories were to be supplied to the local market of Faisalabad.

However, the passengers failed in the attempt on timely action of the customs team. The sources said that the customs authorities registering cases have arrested the accused persons and started further investigations into the case.

Earlier, Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) recovered a huge quantity of Iranian dry skimmed milk which was being smuggled from Quetta to Lahore, sources said.

The sources said that the total value of the milk is over Rs5 million while the ASO has also detained the truck which was being used to transport the milk.

The sources said that on secret information the ASO team intercepted the truck loaded with the illegal milk near Kamalpur interchange and recovered the huge quantity.

The sources said that the ASO after registering a case against the party has started further investigation.
