Customs I&I Lahore Gujranwala impounds Rs2210.971m goods & vehicles

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) has impounded over Rs2210.971 million goods and vehicles from July to November 2020-21,

The sources said that the anti-smuggling performance of the Directorate during the current Financial Year surpasses all previous achievements by framing 107 seizures involving an amount of Rs2210.971 million.

It was mentioned that the Directorate rendered unremitting and strenuous efforts to intercept the smuggling of contraband goods and vehicles despite the fact that the Directorate has a shortage of human resources.

The directorate has seized over Rs2210.971 million goods and vehicles from the areas under both its offices in Lahore and Gujranwala.

As per details the Lahore officer recovered Rs1930 million contraband goods and vehicles during July to November financial year 2020-21 while the Gujranwala office working under the same directorate confiscated goods and articles worth Rs 280.950 million making total of 2210.971 million.

The operations were conducted by Director Syed Asad Raza Rizvi on information of Additional Director Hassan Freed.

The sources said that the director and additional director have given standing instructions to the anti-smuggling teams of the directorate to adopt zero tolerance against all kind summing activities without favor and fear.
