Govt focused towards technology development: Fawad Chaudhary

LAHORE: Federal Minister Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary said that the PTI government focused towards technology development and uplift of the backward and ignored areas including South Punjab.

In a meeting with renowned businessman, CEO of Excel Cables Salman Zafar Chadhury who called him the minister here, the minister said that in the direction of the the Prime Minister vision, the ministry also focused on the development of the science and technology in the lesser developed areas of Pakistan. Further, establishment of the technology based industry in these areas are crucial for the economic revival and employment creation of the country.

The minister assured Salman Zafar to visit Haroon Abad, Bhawalnagr and will focus for the development of the area. He admitted that the area was neglected by the successive governments while the PTI led Punjab government priorities the South Punjab by creating Ring Financing Project for the area. The Punjab government has allocated designated funds for the development and uplift of the South Punjab under Ring Financing Project and the allocated funds could not be utilized other than the South Punjab, he added. He said that schools of the area would be upgraded with science and technology education while all missing facilities would be ensured there.

Earlier, Salman Zafar Chaudhary who hailed from Haroon Abad, Bhawalnagr briefed the minister about the backwardness and deprived people of the area due to neglecting attitude of the past governments. He pointed that no investment was made by the governments for the Science and Technology development of the area. This resulted in sense of depravedness among the people of area, he added.
