QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs with the assistance of FC seized smuggled goods worth Rs75 million from Noshki and Kuchlak area.
Sources told that upon information a warehouse housing smuggled goods was raided in Kuchlak, which resulted in seizures of smuggled goods including betel nut, glassware, cloth, tyres, welding rods, petrol station dispensers and other miscellaneous goods.
Furthermore, a simultaneous operation was conducted by Customs staff at Noshki, which resulted in seizures of 2 transporting trucks on RCD Highway, which resulted in seizures of smuggled betel nut, cloth, tyres.
The total amount of seized goods is Rs75 million. Furthermore, Customs Quetta intends to conduct further, fully informed surprise sting operations in future. Further legal proceedings are underway.
Chief Collector Baluchistan Gul Rehman appreciated the team of Collector Irfan Javed comprising Additional Collector Yasir kulwar, Deputy Collectors Akbar Jan, Dr. Zoaib Sandela, Superintendents Tariq Sultan, Saleem Agha, inspectors Shazad Akhtar, Aslam Solungi, Naseer Shaheen, Ishaq George and others.
It may be mentioned here a grand operation against non-custom-paid (NCP) vehicles will be launched next week in which Customs, FC and Police would participate.
On the instructions of Chief Collector Gul Rehman, Collector Irfan Javed has formed teams in this regard, while DIG Quetta Azhar Ikram and Lt. Commander FC would also monitor the operation.
It was known that owners of the NCP vehicles would be arrested and FIRs would be lodged against them.
