Multan Customs impounds NDP crane from Muzaffargarh

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) anti-smuggling team intercepted a non-custom paid crane near Muzaffargarh located at Qureshi Wala.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Collector Multan Customs Syed Ali Abbas Gardezi received secret information from his source that non-customs paid crane is moving on the roads near Muzaffargarh. Additional Collector alerted Anti-smuggling Unit Multan for close checking of vehicles. Customs teams started patrolling in the suspected areas and intercepted a PH crane bearing registration no JS-1705. The driver of the crane failed to provide any relevant legal documents regarding possession of crane, while the crane was being used to deliver auto parts.

Sources told that crane belonged to a constructor Syed Akbar Shah. The market value of seized crane is Rs.3 million. Multan customs team which impounded the HP crane includes anti-smuggling Inspector Abdul Samad, Inspector Maqsood Ahmad and others. Customs Anti-Smuggling squad found that HP crane engine chassis number was cut and weld.

It is necessary to mention here that Collector Muneeza Majeed directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling. She said that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt with iron hands.
