HYDERABAD: Collectorate of Customs, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized goods and vehicles worth Rs274 million from March to April, 2021.
According to document provided to Customs Today showed that under the strict directives of FBR and special initiatives of Abdul Qadir Memon the Collector Customs Hyderabad, the Anti-Smuggling Organizations (ASOs) of MCC Hyderabad geared up anti-smuggling efforts which resulted in making more than 60 seizures of smuggled goods and non-duty paid vehicles valuing Rs274 million from March to April 2021.
This is definitely a remarkable performance on behalf of MCC Hyderabad under the leadership of Collector Customs Hyderabad. The value of seized smuggled goods and non-duty paid vehicles made during the above mention period is approximately 286% higher than its corresponding period of last financial year.
The seized goods include smuggled Iranian diesel 10250 litres, narcotics (charas 450 kgs.), gutka 726300 sache, cigarettes 22849 dandas, betel nuts 13300 kgs, cloth 14466 yards.
The ASO also detained and seized 29 numbers of non-customs paid vehicles and other miscellaneous goods.
On this accelerated performance of the MCC Hyderabad, the Collector appreciated the activities of anti-smuggling units and directed for taking more efforts for complete disruption and dismantling of the smuggling network.
