KARACHI: M/s Khafid Garments has approached the Sindh High Court (SHC) and filed a constitutional petition against blacklisting petitioner’s company and seized five consignments of the petitioner comprising fabrics.
On 2 June 2021, counsel for the petitioner stated that petitioner has imported fabrics five consignments from abroad and after arrival of the said consignments it came into knowledge of the petitioner that the company of the petitioner blacklisted by the customs officials due to liability of Rs1,62,00,000 and the worth of the consignments is approximately Rs2,75,00,000.
He further stated that after blacklisting the company of the petitioner, the petitioner was unable to release the consignments which were imported from abroad and the consignments are put by the customs department and auctioned in the month of Feb 2021.
He added that the petitioner moved petition to the customs officials for issuance of sell proceeds to the petitioner because the petitioner imported the above-mentioned consignments from abroad but the respondent did not take a single step upon the request of the petitioner.
Citing secretary revenue division, chief collector of Customs Appraisement West and Assistant Director Customs Auction as respondents, petitioner pleaded the court to direct them to issue sell proceed to the petitioner and also issue directions them to the name of the company of the petitioner be cleared after receiving liabilities from the petitioner’s company after auction of the above-mentioned consignments.
He further pleaded the court may grant any other relief which this court may deem, fit and proper under the circumstances of the petition.
