Commissioner PRA visits RCCI

RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Ms. Tahira Javed has assured the business community that no one would be harassed on the account of tax collection and registration notices.

During her visit to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), while addressing the office bearers, members, and representatives from the trade associations she welcomed RCCI’s suggestions on tax matters, registration and payment of dues. She assured that maximum facilities would be provided to the business community and tax payers.

On the occasion, the President of the Chamber Nasir Mirza said that the Chamber’s platform is available to enhance the close liaison between the tax authority and the business community. He suggested setting up a PRA help desk in the Chamber. The business community has been hit the hardest. Hotels, restaurants, wedding halls, travel industry, have faced severe difficulties due to COVID Pandemic and added more stress and pain when traders got tax notices, he added.

He suggested that tax amnesty or relief packages be introduced for overdue payments. PRA should increase its capacity. Take effective measures to equalize tax rates at the federal and provincial levels. Seminars should be held in the chamber for tax awareness and taxpayers should be given respect and privileges so that other people can also join the tax net.

Former Presidents Jalil Ahmad Malik, Malik Shahid Saleem, Senior Vice President Osman Ashraf, Vice President Shahraiz Ashraf, members of the executive committee, trade representatives, and members of the Chamber were also present on the occasion.
