Multan I&I seizes container loaded with smuggled crockery & garments near Kot Sabzal

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Sadiqabad have seized containers loaded with crockery, grocery, garments items along with vehicle near Kot Sabzal Check post.

According to details, Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled miscellaneous goods will be transported through Sadiqabad region. Additional Director Customs Intelligence Saeed Ahmad Wattoo formed special field Intelligence team for thwarting attempt of smuggling and enhanced patrolling in suspect area. Field Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad intercepted the suspected truck which was loaded with foreign origin crockery and kitchen grocery.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized the container and that was loaded on the trolley with registration number JU-4294 .

Driver informed field intelligence staff that said crockery was belong to Abdullah Jan resident of Qilla Abdullah and recovered items were seized due to differential difference in goods and invoices presented to Customs Intelligence and Investigation in that action.

The total value of seized troller was almost Rs5 million and the worth of seized goods was almost Rs.1.8 million Rupees. Sources told Customs today that there were some clear discrepancies in the loaded items and their invoices produced to field Intelligence unit in action.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation has lodged an advance information report under section 201,16 of the customs act 1969 with section 3(1)&3(3) of the import and export control.
