Hyderabad I&I impounds non-duty-paid vehicle

HYDERABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Sukkur Region has seized a non-duty-paid Toyota Premio (Model: 2008) worth Rs3.8 million.

Sources said that information was passed through Director Sadiqullah to Additional Director Jamshed Talpur regarding transportation of non-duty-paid (smuggled) vehicles from Baluchistan to Punjab.

The ASO staff enhaced vigilance and a suspected vehicle was spotted and intercepted near Jacobabad Bypass. These recovered foreign origin goods valuing Rs10.34 million include tyres, fabric, Chinese salt, electronics and blankets.

It is necessary to mention here that during last week ASO of I&I Sukkur intercepted two trucks at Rohri Plaza, coming from Karachi to upcountry, and recovered miscellaneous foreign origin goods including cloth, confectionary items, shoes worth Rs15.33 million.
