Multan Dry Port is one of the major clearance stations of the Punjab and it observed slight improvement in the clearance of import and export shipments during corresponding fiscal year 2020-21. South Punjab major clearing station Multan Dry Port performed better than corresponding fiscal year 2019-21. t

The increase in the export consignments arises after the restoration of business activities from Covid-19 and Multan Dry Port has handle only 789 containers including forty inches, twenty inches bonded container and LCL containers. Multan Dry Port observed 25 % increases in the clearance of export during the forgoing economic year 2020-21. A well-placed Official of Multan Dry Port informed Customs today that it cleared almost 417 shipments from Multan Dry Port during first six months of the 2021.

The lowest numbers of containers were cleared in the months of March, April, May and June during the previous economic year 2019-20.

The highest number of export containers handled was 170 in the month of December. The decrease in the export handling from Multan Dry is the worrisome point for the Customs and government of Pakistan as it would contribute handsome revenue in our national exchequer and boost economy. The Model of Customs Collectorate Appraisement handled 1983 export containers in the corresponding fiscal year of 2018-19. Export clearances have been decreased due to Corona Virus situation. Multan Dry Port has handled almost 417 shipments from export terminal Multan during economic year 2020-21 and almost 372 shipments from Sadiqabad Export terminal during January to June 2020-21.

Multan Dry Port has handled almost 229 various import shipments during January to June 2020-21. Multan Dry Port has still a lot of potential for the growth of export. The Model of Customs Collectorate Appraisement has also encouraged the exporters for restoring export and import through government incentives and bail out packages. MCC Appraisement is making efforts for the improvement of export by gaining the trust of exporters and importers for expanding its utilization.
