QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Balochistan Deputy Collector Saleem Tahir was killed and his companion was seriously injured after their vehicle collided with a truck in Kirdgap tehsil Sunday evening.
The accident occurred in the Mastung district.
Deputy Collector Saleem Tahir died on the spot, while Ali Muhammad was injured. They were moved to Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital, Mastung.
It is necessary to mention here that Saleem Tahir, a Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) officer, has taken the charge as Assistant Director of Directorate of Transit Trade, Quetta on his promotion to BS-17 on 20.3.2017 according to FBR’s Notification No. 0931-C-III/2017.
The Customs department issued a condolence message and expressed its grief over the officer’s death. Saleem Tahir, who belonged to Quetta, was working as deputy collector in Dalbadin. He was quite competent and popular among his colleagues for his personality, according to the department.
The management and staff of Customs Today also expressed their heartfelt condolences on the sad and sudden demise of Deputy Collector Saleem Tahir. They prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude and courage.
