MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) has collected Rs24.3 million under the heads of customs duty, sales taxes and Income tax during the month of August 2020-21.
The Federal Board of Revenue has not allocated any revenue collection target to Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) so far.
Multan Customs has collected Rs.17.58 million in wake of Customs duty during the month of August financial year 2020-21. Multan Customs Collectorate has collected almost Rs.17.58 million under the head of Sales taxes during month of August economic year 2020-21 and collected almost Rs.2.7 million under the head of Sales taxes during August in the financial year 2020-21.
In addition to regular/routine collection of duty/taxes, an effective strategy was devised to specially focus on areas to enhance revenue through administrative measures like auction, Anti-smuggling, as well as crediting of seized/confiscated currency into National Bank of Pakistan.
Besides, taking concrete measures towards facilitation of trade and ease of doing customs business, the measures taken on both revenues worked very well and the collectorate was able to achieve the assigned target in all areas besides trade facilitation.
Several number of facilitation measures were also undertaken by the collectorate during August FY 2021-22 some of which are briefed as the Currency Declaration System (CDS) has been installed at Multan International Airport which is facilitating foreigners. Likewise, a separate PMDU Cell has also been created to redress grievances. Each complaint is addressed on a war footing basis and replied as per law.
