K-Electric’s $2 investment plan lauded: President vows to eliminate energy crisis

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain appreciated the $2 billion investment plan of the K-Electric and Abraaj Group and reiterated the government commitment to do away with the prevailing energy crisis in the country.

President Mamnoon Hussain was talking to a delegation of K-Electric headed by its chairman. The president said that the government had initiated various power projects to generate more electricity to end power crisis. He stated that Pakistan was strategically located to become Asia’s premier trade, energy and transport corridor. President Hussain said that Pakistan had offered the best business and investor-friendly policies in the region. He urged investors to take advantage of it.

He assured every possible help to the private sector. He said that the government was undertaking various measures to address challenges confronting the business community particularly law and order situation.

The delegation of K-Electric also briefed the president on the future investment plans of K-Electric and Abraaj Group in Pakistan which will invest two billion dollars in the power utility sector.
