RAWALPINDI: A three-day “Pindi Food Festival” being organized by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) begins at Ayub Park from November 12 to 14.
Chairman Kashmir Committee Shahriyar Afridi inaugurated the food festival at Ayub Park. RCCI President Chaudhry Nadeem Rauf, Group Leader Sohail Altaf, Senior Vice President Asim Malik, Vice President Talat Awan, executive members and a large number of stall owners were present on the occasion.
Chairman Kashmir Committee Shehryar Afridi visited various stalls and appreciated the local food and products. He said that the efforts of Rawalpindi Chamber for the promotion of business activities and promotion of local festivity were commendable. I assure the full support and cooperation of the Rawalpindi Chamber regarding the establishment of Industrial Zones along Ring Road. I will convey the suggestions of the Chamber regarding the Industrial Zones and Expo Center to the Prime Minister. I am happy that women entrepreneurs have also set up stalls. The RCCI’s efforts to empower women are commendable, he added.
Chamber President Nadeem Rauf said that after the lifting of business restrictions due to Covid, Rawalpindi Chamber has organized a food festival to promote business activities.
He said that the hotels and the restaurant industry had been badly affected due to the coronavirus pandemic while trade activities were restored after restrictions which was a good sign for businesses.
RCCI would make all-out efforts to make it a business cum family event, adding it was an opportunity for the traders to get exposure and display their products and services for potential customers.
Earlier, Member National Assembly Sheikh Rashid Shafiq also attended the food festival and visited the stalls. A musical evening has also been arranged for the entertainment of families on the occasion of the ongoing three-day food festival at Ayub Park.
