Trucks with GD will not be stopped at all: Chief Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhry

LAHORE: Raiding power is being misused, trucks with Goods Declaration (GD) will not be stopped at all. Business community is the future of the country, if business develops then the country will develop.

These views were expressed by Chief Collector Customs Enforcement Central Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhry in a meeting with the business community at FPCCI Regional Office Lahore chaired by Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Senior Vice President Khawaja Shahzeb Akram.

A joint committee was also announced for better liaison between FPCCI and Customs Enforcement on the occasion. If you want to go, you have to facilitate the business community. The business community can also use the platform of the Federal Tax Ombudsman and the Prime Minister’s Complaints Portal. He said that liaison between business community and related institutions is very important.

FPCCI is playing its positive role for the problems of business community. Pakistan Single Window is a good initiative of the government. Convener of FPCCI Standing Committee on Customs and Customs Intelligence Liaison Muhammad Arshad Bhatti said that the issue of delay in examination of containers should be addressed immediately. Former Vice President of Lahore Chamber Tahir Manzoor said that strict measures are needed to curb smuggling.

President of Multan Chamber Khawaja Muhammad Hussain said that elimination of double taxes is necessary.

Collector Customs Enforcement Central Basit Maqsood Abbasi and Collector Customs Lahore Airport Usman Bajwa said that smugglers also create problems for legal traders and businessmen.
