Fake invoices: Customs Court approves charge sheet against M/s Ahmed Metals

KARACHI: The Customs Court took charge sheet on record submitted by investigation officer of Commissioner Enforcement-I, CTO, Karachi against Junaid Ahmed and Obaid Ahmed of M/s Ahmed Metals & Co who are booked for claiming fake input on the basis of fake invoices amounting to Rs12,900, 296.

On 17 February 2022, investigation officer submits interim charge sheet against the above mentioned accused persons and informed that the above mentioned company is non-existent at the registered premises declared is suit no B-711, 7th floor Saima Trade Center, I.I Chundrigar Road Karachi, it has been further reported that manufacturing activity whatsoever has been carried out on the declared premises and M/s Ahmed Metals have got themselves registered as a manufacturer with sole intention of causing loss to the exchequer by way of claiming of fake input on the basis of fake invoices amounting to Rs. 12, 900, 296.

Case was registered for violation of under section 34, 73, 33 of the sales tax act, 1990 read with section 2 (37) of the act, ibid for violation of section 2 (37) 3, 6, 7, 8, 8A, 10, 11, 22, 26 & 73 of the sales tax act 1990.
