Quetta: Collectorate of Customs Field Enforcement Unit has foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of smuggled goods from passenger buses going to Punjab at Rakhni.
Chief Collector Muhammad Sadiq, Collector Dr. Fareed Khan and Additional Collector Moen Afzal appreciated the work of Assistant Collector Muhammad Yousuf Mari, Senior ASO Officer Rehmatullah Khan, Inspector Bashir Tabussam and staff.
Foreign origin goods include mobile phones, smart watches, cigarettes, Chinese salt, betel nut and used tyres.
Earlier Customs Enforcement Quetta on the directives of Collector Dr. Fareed Khan has tightened the vigilance and strengthened the intelligence network, which resulted in seizure of large quantity of precious urea being smuggled to neighboring country.
The above mentioned quantity of fertilizer was detected and seized at various Check Posts including Darakhshan, Lakpas, Surab, Nuttal check post, Manikhawa check post and Dalbandin check posts.
ASO Squad headed by Incharge Lakpass in two different operations seized 870 bags of urea valuing Rs42.5 million.
An official said in pursuance of directive of Chief Collector Baluchistan, Collector Quetta and Ministry of Interior’s instructions, the Enforcement staff led by Assistant Collector Shafiullah was making further efforts to impact the rising smuggling trend of fertilizer.
