Cement exports up by 1.9% to $229.85m, gems by 40% to $3.743m

ISLAMABAD: Cement exports have increased by 1.9 per cent to $229.85 million from $225.56m the first five months (July-November) of this fiscal year.

According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), gems exports swelled to $3.743m from $2.677m, a rise of around 40pc. By contrast, jewellery exports plunged by 98pc. Furniture exports increased by 1.73pc to $3.125m from $3.072m during the period.

Cement exports were $45.821m in November 2014, a rise of 28pc compared to November 2013 ($35.782m) and 25.7pc compared to October 2014 ($41.244m).

Gems exports in November 2014 increased to $1.120m, an increase of 95.12pc and 134.8pc when compared to that of November 2013 and October 2014.

Jewellery exports during the month decreased by 99pc and 59.72pc compared to November 2013 and October 2014.
