FBR announces sales tax exemption on import of oxygen gas till June 30

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has exempted the sales tax on import of oxygen gas up to June 30, 2022.

The FBR issued SRO 729(I)/2022 to allow the sales tax exemption on import of oxygen gas.

The FBR said that the federal government had exempted the import of oxygen gas for medical purpose from whole of the sales tax from the period starting from November 9, 2021 and ending on June 30, 2022 (both days inclusive).

The following goods have been exempted from the sales tax:

Oxygen gas (PCT 2804.4000)

Cylinder (for oxygen gas) (PCT 7311.0090)

Cryogenic tanks (for oxygen gas) (PCT 7311.0030).
