Customs Enforcement impounds smuggled goods worth Rs46m near Sohrab Goth

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement anti-smuggling team raided at a Bus stand situated at Sohrab Goth, Karachi and recovered 5 truck-loads of foreign origin smuggled/non duty paid sofa Cloth valuing approximately Rs 30 million.

Sources said that information was passed through Collector Feroz Alam Juneo to Additional Collector Hoonak Baloch and Deputy Colelctor Inamullah Wazir regarding presence of smuggled goods at Sohrab goth, in pursuance of which the goods were seized.

During another operation Customs Enforcement has recovered miscellaneous goods like betel nuts, fabric and tyres etc from various buses coming from Quetta at Mochko and Super Highway check posts. Value of the seized goods is estimated to be Rs 16 million.

Total value of seized goods Rs 46 million. Further investigations are still in progress till the filing of this report.
