Motorola introduces Moto X with 32 GB RAM, 64 GB ROM, 5.2” display in $599.99

TOKYO: The Moto X has been labelled one of the best Android handsets to have come out in 2014, but everyone would agree that Motorola’s decision to offer only 16 and 32GB storage options without support for external expansion has been the achilles heel for both the Moto X flagships. Well, it seems Motorola has finally decided that users could do with more storage, as it is now selling a 64GB version of the Moto X on its website in the US.

The 64GB option is available from Moto Maker, the online tool that allows consumers to customize their Moto X before purchase. Only the Pure Edition of the device, which is basically the unlocked model without any carrier bloatware, can be bought with 64GB of storage though, and prospective buyers will have to cough up $599.99 for the more spacious model. That’s not very cheap, but it’s not out of place for a device with so much internal storage and right up there with the price tags on most flagship smartphones in the US.

Other than the increased storage, this is the same Moto X that has made heads turn around the world. It packs a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5.2-inch AMOLED Full HD display, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and LTE connectivity. It also retains the small 2,300mAh battery and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, with an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop available out of the box.
