MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has accelerated crackdown against smuggled goods and vehicles directives of Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faiz Ahmad.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation launched a massive anti-smuggling campaign within their respective areas with limited available resources.
Sources informed Customs Today that under this campaign, Customs Intelligence and Investigation e raided few suspected go-downs on intelligence bases information and seized smuggled goods worth more than Rs.197.058 million in the first 18 days of operation.
Multan Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized eight different non-customs paid vehicles of Rs.19.50 million during crackdown in the jurisdiction. Sources said that Director Customs Intelligence Multan Muhammad Saeed , under the supervision of Additional Director and Assistant Director Multan Muhammad Ali Asif formed a team comprising of Superintendent Saeed Ahmad Malik ,Senior Intelligence Officer Qaswar Shah and other officers and personnel who raided a private go down located near vehari road and bypass on a secret tip.
Customs Intelligence recovered almost 4367 tyres and tubes of various brands worth Rs.38.371 million during successful raid in Multan.
During said operations Customs Intelligence recovered smuggled items included betel nuts, auto spare parts, Pan Parag, skimmed dry milk, crockery, electronics and miscellaneous items.
Director General Customs Intelligence Faiz Ahmed praised Customs Intelligence Multan performance and instructed other directorates to continue crack down on smuggling.
