Director Multan I&I Saeed Asad vows to resolve traders’ issues

MULTAN: A delegation from Chamber of Commerce and Industry Multan and Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry Multan met Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Muhammad Saeed Asad at his office.

The delegation included President MCCI Mian Rashid Iqbal Senior Vice President MCCI Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh, President Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry Multan Sheikh Faisal Saeed, Zafar Iqbal Siddiqui, Secretary General MCCI Muhammad Shafiq Secretary General Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry Rana Hammad was also there. Assistant Director Customs Industry & Investigation Multan Muhammad Ali Asif was also present on this occasion.

President MCCI Mian Rashid Iqbal informed Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan that the problems related to the community regarding department needed immediate attention for their redressal. Customs Intelligence and Investigation field staff are raiding warehouses of business community without any concrete evidence and their raids create severe panic in the market. Despite stiff resistance from business community Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation has directed the directorate to immediately stop raids on factories and inspection of vehicles, and concentrate on devising steps to facilitate genuine business man.

Delegation informed Director Customs Intelligence that it was a long-time demand of South Punjab business community to check harassment by the directorate which indulged in unnecessary inspections and raids. Once the owners of non-duty paid vehicles legalized their cars, the officials of the directorate would have no legal basis to check and confiscate these vehicles.

Director Muhammad Saeed Asad while talking to the delegation said that it is my responsibility to give relief to the honest class and no one will be abused and every task will be done on merit for resolving business community matters. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry will resolve the problems together mutually after sorting out genuine issues. He said that if the documents are kept complete according to the goods during the transportation of goods, most of the problems will be solved and time will also be saved.
