LAHORE: The government’s decision to impose an additional 5 percent general sales tax (GST) on prices of petroleum products (POL) was challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday.
The petitioners said that increasing tax on POL products after reducing petroleum prices is injustice.
“The government is not passing on benefit of declining global oil prices to the consumers in Pakistan,” he stated, appealing the court to issue orders to the federal government for withdrawal of tax.
