Quetta Enforcement impounds smuggled goods & vehicles worth Rs200m

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement has seized smuggled goods and non-customs paid vehicles worth Rs200 million during last two days.

Sources said that in line with the directions of Member Customs (Ops) and on the orders of the Chief Collector Balochistan Abdul Qadir Memon, the Collectorate of Enforcement (Quetta) has seized smuggled / contraband goods.

On the directives of Chief Collector Abdul Qadir Memon, Collector Quetta Enforcement Samiul Haq and Collector Appraisement Agha Saeed Pathan have increased vigilance and strengthened the intelligence network to counter illegal trade.

In an operation at FEU, Lakpas, the smuggled copper scrap and wire, cloth and aluminum utensils alongwith Hino Truck 10 wheeler having worth of Rs 55.47 million were seized.

On the basis of information at FEU, Shaheed Abdul Qadoos, at Kholpur, 35 MT Iron and Steel Bars alongwith 10 wheeler Hino Truck has been caught having worth of Rs 15.635 million. In another operation at the same place, miscellaneous goods like Cigarettes, Tablets, Detergent and Surf, Cloth, Gutka etc were caught in 6 wheeler truck having worth of Rs 19.18 million.

In another operation at FEU, Darakshan Bolan, old and used generators with generator parts in 10 wheeler Hino truck having worth of Rs 20.29 million were seized.

In an operation at FEU, Manikhawa at Zhob, 15000 iranian diesel on Hino Truck 10 wheeler has been seized having value of Rs 22 million.

In minor operations at FEU, Rakhni, Mashkhel and Noshki, skimmed milk, diesel, fertilizer and NCP vehicles having worth of Rs 10 million were seized.

At FEU, Dalbandin, skimmed milk and phthalic anhydride having value of Rs 7.63 million were seized during routine checking of passenger buses.

The spotlight of this operation is the activity of Mobile Squad. Three teams of Customs Mobile squads have been constituted that conduct surprise checking at different locations of the city simultaneously along with Police.

In one day, the Mobile squad has seized ten vehicles that include Toyota Prado TZ 2004, BMW 3 series Model 2017, Land Cruiser V6 Model 2015, Toyota Surf Model 2004, Toyota Vigo, Toyota Corolla X, Toyota Swift, Toyota Swift etc.
