ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Commerce (MoC) has extended Electronic Import Form (EIF) waiver for 45 days in terms of para 20 (a) of State Bank of Pakistan Foreign Exchange Circular No. 5 of 2016 dated August 9, 2016.
The Ministry of Commerce stated that it is in the process of notifying a comprehensive barter trade mechanism with Afghanistan and it will take time and as the waiver of E/I form for allowing of imports settlement from Afghanistan in Pakistani Rupee is ending on 31st March 2023.
Therefore, the waiver of E/I form for allowing of imports settlement from Afghanistan in Pak Rupee extended for further 45 days till 15th May, 2023.
It is necessary to mention here that Pakistan has granted a temporary waiver of Electronic Import Form (EIF) for Afghanistan in order to facilitate trade activities on February 10, 2022.
