MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement has collected Rs66.489 million under the heads of customs duty, sales taxes and income taxes during the month of April 2022-23.
Multan Customs Enforcement was assigned Rs66.117 million of customs duty collection task for the month of April 2022-23. Multan Customs collated Rs73.158 million in wake of customs duty against the assigned task during the month of March 2022-23.
Multan Customs Collectorate collected 90 percent of assigned Customs duty task during the period of April.
It is necessary to mention here that there is substantial increase in revenue generation was recorded. Multan Customs Collectorate collected Rs.42.8 million in wake of customs duty during the corresponding year. Multan Customs Collectorate has collected Rs0.208 million under the head of sales tax during month of April fiscal year 2022-23, while Multan Customs collected almost Rs.6.86 million during corresponding fiscal year 2021-22.
Multan Customs has collected Rs0.164 million under the head of Income taxes during April in the existing financial year 2022-23. Tax Collection data witnesses increase in revenue collection under the supervision of Collector Muhammad Tahir due to his effective strategy. Customs duty collection was enhanced in the Collectorate due to administrative measures like auction, Anti-smuggling, as well as crediting of seized/confiscated currency into National Bank of Pakistan.
Sources told Customs today that Multan Customs Enforcement department collected revenue more than proposed target because we as Multan Customs ensured transparency, automation of processes and maximize ease of doing business.
