Director Excise, Taxation visits RCCI

RAWALPINDI: Director Excise and Taxation Rawalpindi Imran Aslam visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and called on President RCCI Saqib Rafiq and other office bearers.

Senior Vice President Muhammad Hamza Sarosh, Vice President Faisal Shahzad, Former Presidents Raja Amir Iqbal, Saboor Malik, executive committee members, trade association’s representatives, distinguished members of RCCI and women members were also present in the meeting.

President Chamber Saqib Rafiq briefed the Director Excise and Taxation on the ongoing activities and future programs of the Chamber.

He said that the Rawalpindi Chamber would support all efforts to bring transparency in the tax collection system, eliminate irregularities, unnecessary notices from the tax department etc. He appreciated the initiatives of bringing an online system against harassment and duplicate notices, mobile app and online payments system.

Director Excise and Taxation Rawalpindi Imran Aslam told the traders that the Excise Department has increased the efficiency of the department for the payment of taxes including vehicle registration, professional tax, and has introduced facilities through online and mobile app-based technology.

It has introduced a biometric system for purchase and sale and transfer of vehicles and online fee and tax payment system, which has brought transparency along with saving time and also improved tax collection. He welcomed the Chamber proposals to bring in a procedural and automated tax assessment system.
