ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 5.54 ton charas, 1kg heroin and 105 gram amphetamine (Ice) worth Rs5.547 billion during five different operations conducted across the country and detained five alleged drug traffickers, including a female foreigner.
As per details, ANF Quetta in a successful operation conducted at desolate area of Killi Zard Abdullah, tehsil Mangocher, district Kalat, seized 5.53 tons charas packed in 107 plastic sacks. As per initial investigations, the consignment was to be smuggled to some foreign destination through sea.
An ANF Rawalpindi Road Team during routine checking at Attock Khurd, GT Road, district Attock, searched a passenger van and arrested a 40-year-old Zambian National woman namely Christine Kabunda along with 105 gram amphetamine (Ice). Ice was concealed in a biscuit pack. The accused was coming from Peshawar and was on her way to Islamabad. The woman currently resides at G-13, Islamabad.
ANF Rawalpindi on pursuance of an information, held two drug traffickers namely Abdul Khaliq and Khuda-e-Burdi near ANF Police Station Attock and recovered 1kg heroin from their possession. Both the accused are Afghan nationals and currently residing at Attock city. They were arrested while travelling on a passenger bus bound for Lahore.
ANF Karachi acted upon a tip-off and raided a drug den being run at a house located in Fareed Colony, Orangi Town, West Karachi, which resulted in recovery of 10kg charas. A local peddler Kaloo Khan present on the occurrence scene was also arrested. The said drug den was being run by the accused namely Nasir Afridi alias Mama, who is still at large and efforts to arrest the absconder are at hand.
ANF Karachi apprehended a local supplier Attique-ur-Rehman r/o Badin and recovered 3kg charas from his personal possession. He was arrested near Total petrol pump, Fateh Chowk, Hyderabad City. He is involved in supply of drugs to nearby localities.
All the cases have been registered against all the detainees at respective ANF police stations and further investigations are under process.
