Quetta Customs foils bid to smuggle dry fruits, sugar & urea worth Rs50 million

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs has seized huge quantity of dry fruits, sugar and urea worth Rs50 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Rakhni Field Unit at Baluchistan-Punjab border intercepted a truck and recovered huge quantity of dry fruits, which was being smuggled into the interior country. Similarly, Dalbandin Field Unit recovered 800 bags of urea and 100 parcels of sugar.

In line with the anti-smuggling policy of government of Pakistan, Chief Collector Abdul Qadir Memon, Collector Quetta Muhammad Ismail has further expedited the anti-smuggling activities.

On the instructions of Additional Collector Umar Shafique, Assistant Collector Haseeb Ahmed and Muhammad Saleem formed Field Enforcement Units led by Muhammad Rafique-Rakhni; Ali Ahmed Lehri – Dalbandin; and Inspectors Faiz Khoso, Abdul Sattar, Syed Qamar Abbas, Raja Naeem taking effective measures against smugglings.
