TOKYO: Ultra-slim Oppo R5 handset available for pre-order at the previously mentioned price of Rs 29900. Users have to visit a physical store offering it up for pre-booking in order to lay hands on it.

Several brands have been facing the ire of retail outlets for offering their devices through online vendors exclusively. It’s possible that the Oppo R5 is being sold through traditional channels because a lot of people still like getting the feel of a gadget before buying it and being boycotted by brick-and-mortar storefronts is the last thing the company needs.

The Oppo Smartphone has a 5.2-inch screen whose resolution has been kept to full HD only in order to conserve the 2000mAh battery supporting it. The last mentioned has a Rapid Charge system; with 5 minutes at the power outlet being all its needs for a 2-hour phone call apparently. The limited ROM of 16GB is likely to have users peeved and so is the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack.
