KARACHI: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) issued a reminder on Monday, urging its members to renew their memberships by March 31, 2024.

KCCI President Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh emphasized the importance of timely renewal to avoid any inconvenience and ensure a seamless continuation of membership benefits.

In a statement, President Sheikh highlighted that the membership renewal process for the year 2024-25 is currently in progress at the Karachi Chamber. According to the Trade Organizations Act of 2013, the deadline for renewal is set for March 31, 2024. President Sheikh mentioned that the Chamber has already communicated this critical information to its members through letters, emails, and SMS services, notifying them that their membership will expire on March 31, 2024.

President Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh emphasized that members must renew their memberships on or before the deadline by submitting the prescribed membership fee along with proof of filing their last income tax and sales tax returns, if applicable. To facilitate members, the Karachi Chamber has taken a proactive step by establishing a Faysal Bank Cash Counter within its premises, providing a convenient and hassle-free environment for members to submit their renewal fees.

He cautioned that failure to renew memberships by the specified deadline would result in automatic cessation of membership. To regain membership, lapsed members would need to go through the entire re-admission process.

The President noted that KCCI, for the first time, has introduced multiple options for the submission of membership renewal fees. Members can choose to submit their fees through online banking or by using bank challans at branches of Bank Al-Habib, Habib Metropolitan Bank, Meezan Bank Limited, Faysal Bank Limited, or through the Upaisa App. Alternatively, members can pay via pay order, which should be submitted at KCCI along with the payment receipt and income tax returns. Members who have not received payment challans can contact the membership department during office hours for assistance.

In addition to the renewal process, KCCI has been expeditiously issuing membership cards and certificates to its members. These documents are essential for various purposes and play a crucial role in facilitating the active participation of members in the business community.

As the deadline approaches, KCCI encourages its members to take prompt action to ensure a smooth transition into the new membership year and to continue benefiting from the Chamber’s services, networking opportunities, and advocacy efforts on behalf of the business community.
