Multan Customs generates Rs20.063m through auction of smuggled goods, vehicles

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement orchestrated a successful public auction at State Warehouse, garnering an impressive revenue of Rs20.053 million. The auction, a showcase of regulatory prowess, featured a diverse array of confiscated goods and vehicles, drawing attention from eager buyers.

Highlighting the auction were popular vehicle models including Honda Civic, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Suzuki Wagon R, enticing buyers with their allure.

Notably, nine vehicles were sold, fetching a total of Rs11.12 million and underlining the buoyancy of the market demand.

In addition to vehicles, the auction boasted an assortment of confiscated goods ranging from everyday essentials like skimmed milk and almonds to industrial staples like welding rods and iron scrap. The sale of miscellaneous items contributed significantly to the total revenue, amounting to Rs.8.933 million.

Overseeing the proceedings with a commitment to transparency and fairness was Additional Collector Shah Faisal Sahu, ensuring adherence to regulatory protocols. The decision to reserve bidding on High-Speed Diesel (HSD) exclusively for Oil Marketing companies underscored a dedication to upholding regulatory standards.

The successful auction not only bolstered government finances but also underscored Multan Customs Enforcement’s effectiveness in combating illicit trade while promoting legitimate commerce. It served as a testament to the agency’s regulatory acumen, setting a benchmark for responsible governance and lawful business practices.
