ICCI to make all out efforts to turn Islamabad into a clean & green city

ISLAMABAD: President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari has said that capital city is our own city and we are determined to turn it into a clean and green city and that business community is the biggest stakeholder of the city and it  will utilise all available resources  to make it fascinating and beautiful in real terms.

He said  this while  signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the ICCI and the CDA here. The President said that  ICCI will take the responsibility of newly built washrooms of different markets for their operation, management, maintenance and develop them as per the hygienic standards.

He added that the nominal fee charged for the use  will be spent for the upgradation and maintenance of these washrooms. ICCI will also ensure the placement of janitorial staff wearing proper uniforms at each facility. The President ICCI further said that the Chamber will also built water filtration plants on a self help basis and continue to play its role for the upgradation of the city.

On this occasion, the business community as well as residents hailed the ICCI  initiative in the interest of the citizens. The MoU was signed by  Mr. Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari on behalf of the ICCI and by Mr. Mashooq Ali Shaikh, Director Sanitation on behalf of the CDA.

On this occasion, among others, Noman Khalid, Member IT, Shafiullah Marwat, Director General, Ms. Abeera Dilawar, Director Sports and Culture,  Zafar Bakhtawari Secretary General UBG, Ejaz Abbasi, former President, Ch. Khalid, former SVP and Ch. Zia, a former executive member, was also present.
