Islamabad Customs foils bid to smuggle 75,000 liters of Iranian Diesel worth Rs20m

ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs has thwarted an attempt to smuggle Iranian Diesel in the guise of LPG. The market value of seized Iranian diesel is Rs20 million.

According to Collector Customs Islamabad Asif Hergon, the officials of Islamabad Customs Collectorate on source information intercepted LPG bowsers. During the inspection of the bowser, the Customs staff recovered 75,000 liters of smuggled Iranian Diesel.

The Collectorate Customs informed the media that they arrested two smugglers and have started further investigation on this matter.

The Collector further stated that the smugglers managed to clear the bowser, and traveled from Taftan to Islamabad through the M-14 route. However, the Islamabad Customs collectorate confiscated the above-mentioned goods in its jurisdiction.
