Karachi Enforcement recovers smuggled plastic cling film from Korangi Industrial Area

KARACHI: Under the supervision of Collector Basit Maqsood Abbasi, Collectorate of Customs Enforcement recovered 55,000 kilograms of smuggled plastic cling film worth Rs48 million from a godown located in Korangi Industrial Area.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Basit Abbasi received credible information that huge quantity of plastic cling film is dumped in a godown located in Korangi Industrial Area.

He immediately directed Deputy Collector Raza Naqvi, SPS-ASO Muhammad Habib Mayo, Muhammad Saqlain, and Preventive Officer Muhammad Zubair to use all available resources for recovery of smuggled goods.

The anti-smuggling squad transported the recovered goods on eight rented Mazdas to the Collectorate’s warehouse for detailed examination and further legal proceedings.

It is necessary to mention here that Collector Basit Maqsood Abbasi directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling.

He further directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt with iron hands.
