Hyderabad Customs, RTO hold tree plantation drive

HYDERABAD: Collectorate of Customs in collaboration with Regional Tax Office (RTO) held a tree plantation drive in the premises of the Custom House, SITE, Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion Collector Customs Hyderabad, Ms Mona Mehfooz has said that in line with this year independence day theme of Green Pakistan and in view of the climate change and its impact on our country, the officers and staff of the Collectorate and RTO planned to plant trees in the surroundings.

She said in addition to their official duties as defenders of economic frontiers of Pakistan, Custom department is also aware of its social responsibilities and this event is part of this. Dr Khalid Malik, Chief Commissioner, RTO Hyderabad also emphasized on importance of trees as our savior to beat global warming.

The event was made beautiful by inviting children of SOS village Jamshoro. During the event plants were planted by guests Director IB, Hyderabad Qamar ud din Zounr, Junaid Memon, Director Customs Intelligence, Hyderabad. Naib Ali Pathan, Commissioner RTO Hyderabad, Col. Hassan and other dignitaries. Saplings were also gifted to the children of SOS village, Jamshoro.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Collector of Customs Hyderabad Mona Mehfooz.
